Santiago Ramon y Cajal stated in his will that a Foundation is to be established to honor his professors and for an award for the best Anatomy student. The Santiago Ramon y Cajal Foundation in the School of Medicine, University of Zaragoza, Spain, is a non-profit scientific institution established on November 13, 1935 after Cajal’s death.
