Ferid Murad used his Nobel Prize money to meet the expenses of bringing with him to the Nobel award ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, his family, friends and colleagues. His family included his wife, five children with their families and siblings. He brought with him the largest number of persons a Nobel Laureate had brought with him/her to the Nobel ceremony – 51 persons.
